In 1988, my career began in Clermont County as Assistant County Prosecutor. After that, I went into general legal practice. I opened the current firm in 1992 as a general practitioner. Over the years I continued to gravitate to the practice of bankruptcy law.
Bankruptcy practice is rewarding because of the tremendous good I can do for people. The bankruptcy code is powerful. I get satisfaction using it to help ordinary people stop a forclosure, get their repossessed car returned, end a wage garnishment, and get relief from abusive collection practices. It is rewarding to see a client enjoy peace of mind and a fresh financial start.
Almost all of our clients have suffered financial hardship due to an unforeseen situation such as job loss, sick child or parent, health issues or divorce. It is our firm’s focus and privilege to thoroughly understand and implement the bankruptcy code on behalf of our clients. We have handled thousands of bankruptcy cases with very successful results.
Christopher Travis, Attorney

- Native of Cincinnati focusing in the following legal areas:

In 1997, after graduating from Syracuse University College of Law, I was admitted to practice in Ohio. Initially, I became a public defender in the Hamilton County Public Defender’s office. While there, I became acutely aware of predatory lenders, buy-here-pay-here car lots that sell lemons for twice their value and people hit hard by unexpected loss of employment and other financial tragedies. I learned more about the world of unscrupulous employers paying off-the books and not paying overtime as required. Soon thereafter, I entered into private practice and began representing consumers in need.
My practice is focused on Chapter 7 and 13 Bankruptcy and employment matters. Prior to considering bankruptcy, my clients have made legitimate attempts to pay their debts or they have made reasonable settlement offers to their creditors. People do not take lightly the decision to seek discharge of their debts in Bankruptcy. I enjoy counseling my clients about the relief available under the law and helping a family look to a brighter future.
I have great respect for the struggles of business owners, most of which value the work of their employees and respect the protections the law provides them. When the employer instead takes advantage of workers, both the employee and their family suffer. When this happens, I enjoy protecting a worker’s rights.
It is a great experience to be a part of Keegan & Co., Attorneys, where both attorneys and staff care about clients. Here, we take the concerns of our clients seriously and we take pride in being responsive to the needs of our clients.
